It's best to eat fats away from your fruits, by at least two hours.
A great way to do this is to focus on FRUIT for breakfast and lunch and then bring in FATS at dinner.
Fats actually inhibit the absorption of glucose in the system.
When we eat them together the fats keep the glucose from entering the cells as needed and the glucose sort of just hangs out in the bloodstream. This can cause some discomfort or even give symptoms of hypoglycemia.
As we transition, the fat may still be hanging out in our systems even if we haven't eaten it since the day before. Be patient and give it a week or two to start balancing out.
We love fruits and (a small amount) of healthy fats!! Some will be okay mixing, but you will only know this by experimenting a bit. As always, tune into your body and do what feels right for you as nobody knows your body quite like you do!!
