Cooked food can be your friend on a raw cleanse!
It sounds a bit counter intuitive but there is actually a time and place for it.
When we eat cooked food, the liver slows down to break down the cooked food and temporarily also slows down it's release of stored up toxins. If you are trying to do high raw or all raw and you start to experience detox symptoms that are a bit too uncomfortable, we encourage you to bring in some steamed or roasted potatoes and/or veggies.
Eating some cooked food will also help keep you feeling satiated if you're unable to feel satisfied at all while being raw. You can absolutely still detoxify your body and eat cooked food. Let your body guide you.
There's no competition here and you are not failing yourself if you eat cooked food so please do not beat yourself up for taking this route.

Try a cooked meal without fat and see how that feels. Then play with having a little fat if that feels right for you. Just tune into you and notice what feels good and what alleviates symptoms for you.
Even if you plan on being fully raw, it doesn't hurt to have food that you can cook on hand just in case you need a little something to slow down the discomfort!
Simply add your raw meal to a bed of potatoes, sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash or any other squash for a nourishing and warming meal.
Always remember, this is all about nourishing yourself and detoxing too hard and too fast is never a good thing!
